Taal Volcano, has been called the smallest active volcano in the world. It is located in the southern part of Luzon in the Philippines. It is about 50km from the capital, Manila. Right in the center of the island is the main crater that holds a sulfuric lake. It is famous for having an island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island in the Pacific Ocean. What makes Taal Volcano more unique is the fact that the volcano itself has a lake of its own inside its crater which is called the "Crater Lake." One can even swim inside the Crater Lake but don't stay too long because the lake's water is a much diluted form of sulfuric acid with high concentration of boron, magnesium, aluminum and sodium in salt form. The first recorded scuba dive inside the crater was made by a team led by Thomas Hargrove in 1986 to a depth of about 20 meters or 60 feet. There is even a tiny island in the Crater Lake which Hargrove's team also explored.

For Your SAFETY

1) The months of December, January, and February, are said to be windy that it’s just too dangerous for bancas to get to the landing spot. On those days bancas are not allowed to run.
2) There are "guides" on the crater rim, who urge tourists to trek down to the Crater Lake with them for an "extra fee". Don't do it. It,s dangerous, and it will cost you an arm and a leg in "extra charges" that you will find out only when you finish. Just take the "secret trail". It goes to the same place, it’s avoids the slippery and dangerous part of the trek. Other than that, it,s the same trail, and it costs a lot less.

Monitoring:

1. Seismic monitoring  (number of volcanic quakes and tremors)
2. Visual observations
3. Ground deformation (EDM, precise leveling, tilt)
4. Main Crater Lake chemistry, temperature and level

The creations of these hills are topics to many disputes. There is a proposed statement that the Chocolate Hills were man-made just like the pyramids of Egypt. This idea was being neglected because it is more complicated to create almost 1,268 hills than creating the pyramids. The Hills are uniform in shape and usually between 30 and 50 meters high. It is spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers (20 sq mi) throughout the towns of Carmen, Batuan and Sagbayan in Bohol. Because of its fame, the province featured the Hills in their provincial flag and seal to symbolize the abundance of natural attractions. They are covered with green grass, which turns out into chocolate brown during dry season. This transforms the area into seemingly endless rows of "chocolate kisses". Hence, the name Chocolate Hills was derived. Of the 1,247 hills, two have been developed into resorts for tourism. Chocolate hills have been declared the country's third National Geological Monument and proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Mt. Mayon also known as Mayon Volcano is a stratvolcano similar to Mt. Apo. It is known to be the most popular active volcano in the Philippines. Mt. Mayon is situated in the province of Albay in Bicol region. It forms the northern boundary of Legazpi City. The name Mt. Mayon is from the local folklore legendary heroine Daragang Magayon (Bicol) meaning “Lady Beautiful”.
Mt. Mayon is considered to be the world’s most perfectly formed volcano because of its almost symmetrical conical shape. Its’ current cone was formed through pyroclastic and lava flows from past eruptions. It is 8,223 feet high, and has indulged in several destructive eruptions. The most disruptive eruption was recorded in 1814 where many houses were destroyed and 2500 people were killed and wounded. This eruption buried the town of Cagsawa. During that time, Mt. Mayon was belching dark ash and eventually bombarding the town with tephra. Trees were burned; rivers were certainly damaged and 2,200 Albay locals perished in what is considered to be the most lethal eruption in Mayon’s history. Now, only the bell tower of the town’s church remained.
Mt. Mayon recorded forty-nine eruptions in the history and the first recorded major eruption was in 1616. In June 23,1897, Mt. Mayon erupted again, this was recorded as the longest uninterrupted eruption with lava flowing down to civilization. The village of Bacacay was buried 15 meters beneath the lava along with 100 people declared dead in Libon, Albay. They were burned by steam and falling debris or hot rocks. In the 1993 Mt Mayon eruption, Pyroclastic flows killed 77 people which were mainly farmers.
Because Mt. Mayon is the most active volcano in the Philippines, PHIVOLCS monitor it regularly. Three telemetric units are installed in the slope of the volcano. The units are responsible for sending information to seven seismometers in different settings around the volcano. The information are send to the Ligñon Hill observatory and to the PHIVOLCS central headquarters in UP Diliman campus. To monitor the volcano’s daily activity, PHIVOLCS deploys electronic distance meters (EDMs), precise leveling benchmarks, and portable fly spectrometers.
Because of the changing environment of the volcano, PHIVOLCS advises people to see the majestic volcano at the view point instead of climbing. Some of the skilled mountaineers who have already reached its crater said that climbing Mayon Volcano is tough and may require strong endurance, courage, and knowledge on volcanic topography. For those who are really interested, it is wise to consult PHIVOLCS for the recent volcanic activity of Mt. Mayon before climbing. Make sure to have a skilled guide for your safeness. It takes 2 days to climbing and descend from the volcano.

Mount Apo is an active volcano, situated in south central Mindanao, from Davao City 40 km (20 mi) west; Digos City-25 km southeast, and Kidapawan City-20 km (12 mi) west; it is the highest peak in the Philippines, with an altitude of 9,692 feet (2,954 meters). Part of the Cordillera Central, it is covered by a forest of tall, tropical hardwoods; two subsidiary peaks nearly match its height. Mount Apo National Park, established in 1936, has an area of 64,053 hectares; it is known as the home of the rare Philippine eagle and features numerous peaks and valleys, as well as Malasita Falls, Sibulao Lake, and the Kisinte Hot Springs. About 19 kilometers up its slopes is found Lake Venado. The mountain’s high peak appears to be white, due to a crust of sulfur that is released in the mountain’s emissions. Volcanic in nature, the mountain has 3 craters but is not known to have ever erupted. The mountain is a source of geothermal power, however, with at least two geothermal plants located on it. Mt. Apo is the tallest Philippine mountain. It measures 3,143.6 meters above sea level. Despite its height, the mountain is considered easy to climb and is popular with climbers.

Mt. Apo has five distinct forest formations. These include lowland, low montane, high montane, and summit or scrub forest. Mt. Apo is known as one of the most ecologically rich mountains in the region. And a wide variety of plants grow on the mountain. Hundreds of endemic species of plants, including rare and threatened species, have been found on the mountain. There are about 800 different types of endemic plants have been identified as growing on the mountain’s slopes in a segment between 300 to 1000 meters above sea level. Among these are the rare lauan and the endangered almaciga. There are 629 species of flowers and 42 endemics. There are 18 threatened species of flowers, which include the waling-waling orchid.

Mt. Apo forests are home to various species of endemic animals. There are almost 227 vertebrate species, which include amphibians, reptiles, and mammals, inhabit the mountain. Some as 118 species of butterflies have been recognized in the area. The mountain is also home to 272 species of birds, of which 111 (40%) are endemic to Mt. Apo and two endemic bird species are endangered, the Philippine eagle known to as the (monkey-eating eagle), and the abukay.

For a musician, used music equipment can be a fast and easy way to increase the quality and versatility of your gear without having to empty out your wallet in the process. However, there are things to watch for, and things to be wary of. The equipment will have been used before, and so it could have some defects or problems with it that you will want to identify. At the same time, some of it will be selling for used prices but will be in nearly mint condition. Finding the differences between the two can be an art form, and with a little practice and knowledge you will be able to succeed.

Know the Market Value of Used Music Gear

When looking for any used music equipment, the first step is to get a good idea of the market value. You should start by looking up the current prices on the new equipment, even if you know you do not want to buy it. This will give you a solid starting point. You should then begin watching the prices of the used equipment online. However, you should not buy right away. Take a while first and chart the prices. See if they are trending up or down, and calculate a general average that you should be able to expect to pay. Use this average as your goal; do not buy anything that is more expensive than it, and try to find the equipment that is farthest below it to get the best deal.

Always Inspect Used Music Gear

As far as looking at the equipment is concerned, there is an art to this as well. First, inspect it for cosmetic damage. Even if you do not care about the looks of the equipment but only the functionality, say in the case of used music keyboards, you will want to check. Large cosmetic damage can mean that the equipment has been abused. It may have been dropped, something that would crack the shell and could then have an unseen impact on the inside. You will want to stay away from used music keyboards with large amounts of cosmetic damage, because they could have loose wires or other problems. You should always ask to play them before you buy, to catch any more of these problems.

If you follow these rules, you will be able to buy great used music equipment every time. You will find the very best prices and always take home high-quality gear.

COCACOLA
(Analysis of Market’s Environment)
Brief history
The Coca-Cola Company’s core undertaking is to benefit and refresh everyone it reaches. Founded in 1886, Coca cola is the world’s leading manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of non-alcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups, which are used to produce nearly 400 beverage brands that make up for our wide portfolio. The corporate headquarters are established in Atlanta, and are holding local operations in over 200 countries around the world. Our activities cover all sectors of the beverage industry. Coca-Cola is the second leading player in functional and Asian specialty drinks, while ranking number one in value for the ready-to-drink tea sector.

Competitors
Coca-Cola’s top competitors for the soft drinks industry are PepsiCo (31.6%) and Cadbury- Schweppes (15.8% of market), which combined, represent about 48% of the total market (ref.9). Coca-Cola is leading with 43.7% of the total soft drinks market.
In the functional drinks sector, PepsiCo is the current market leader with 60.5% of the market shares in 2004. Coca-Cola Co is second with 32.8% (ref.2, see Appendix D1). Bubble Buzz will launch into a currently unserved subset of that market (RTD “Ready-To-Drink” Bubble Tea), which is until now unexisting. It is anticipated that the following brands could potentially compete with Bubble Buzz in the functional drinks market: Brisk, Lipton Iced Tea, Sobe (owned by PepsiCo), as well as Snapple’s and Hawaiian Punch (owned by Cadbury/Schweppes). Bubble Buzz also creates a potential situation for cannibalism with Coca-Cola’s very own brands of iced tea and other functional drinks.
The current market fortraditional Bubble Tea is fragmented, since the distribution is restricted to local outlets and selling points such as counters and small Bubble Tea shops in scattered locations across Canada. However, direct competition from these local players is not anticipated, since the marketing roll-out will initially emphasize on product awareness and both sales channels do not reach or serve the same market (retailing vs counter/restoration). A strong distribution system already exists with Coca-Cola, since partnerships and channels are already in place. This will facilitate the product’s reach into its target market.
Strengths

1. Negative publicity
The company received negative publicity in India during September 2006.The company was accused by the Center for Science and Environment (CSE) of selling products containing pesticide residues. Coca-Cola products sold in and around the Indian national capital region contained a hazardous pesticide residue. These pesticides included chemicals which could cause cancers, damage the nervous and reproductive systems and reduce bone mineral density. Such negative publicity could adversely impact the company’s brand image and the demand for Coca-Cola products. This could also have an adverse impact on the company’s growth prospects in the international markets.
2. Sluggish performance in North America
Coca-Cola’s performance in North America was far from robust. North America is Coca-Cola’s core market generating about 30% of total revenues during fiscal 2006. Therefore, a strong performance in North America is important for the company. In North America the sale of unit cases did not record any growth. Unit case retail volume in North America decreased 1% primarily due to weak sparkling beverage trends in the second half of 2006 and decline in the warehouse-delivered water and juice businesses. Moreover, the company also expects performance in North America to be weak during 2007. Sluggish performance in North America could impact the company’s future growth prospects and prevent Coca-Cola from recording a more robust top-line growth.

3. Decline in cash from operating activities

The company’s cash flow from operating activities declined during fiscal 2006. Cash flows from operating activities decreased 7% in 2006 compared to 2005. Net cash provided by operating activities reached $5,957 million in 2006, from $6,423 million in 2005. Coca-Cola’s cash flows from operating activities in 2006 also decreased compared with 2005 as a result of a contribution of approximately $216 million to a tax-qualified trust to fund retiree medical benefits. The decrease was also the result of certain marketing accruals recorded in 2005. Decline in cash from operating activities reduces availability of funds for the company’s investing and financing activities, which, in turn, increases the company’s exposure to debt markets and fluctuating interest rates.

Market trends
Technology- With the growing use of the internet and other electronic technologies, global communication is rapidly increasing. This is allowing firms to collaborate within the country and international market. It has driven competition greatly as companies strive to be first- movers. Specifically, the global soft drink market’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is expected to expand to 3.6% from 2004 to 2009 (Datamonitor, 2005).
Socio-Cultural – the growing trends societal concerns, attitudes, and lifestyles are important to consumers. For instance, in the United States and Europe, people are becoming more concerned with a healthy lifestyle. “Consumers awareness of health issues such as obesity and inactive lifestyles represent a serious risk to the carbonated drinks sector” (Datamonitor, 2005, p.15). The trend is causing the industry’s business environment to change, as firms are differentiating their products in order to increase sales in a stagnant market.
The low growth rates are of concern for soft drink companies, and several are creating new strategies to combat the low rates. Buyers want innovation with the products they buy. In today’s globalizing society, being plain is not good enough. According to Barbara Murray (2006c), Firms are already differentiating by taste, e.g. Coca-Cola company product line includes regular Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Diet cherry Coke, cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, Coca- Cola with Lime, Coca-Cola with lemon and many more (Murray, 2006a).(www.thecoca-colacompany.com)

Niche Market
Coke’s commercials basically based on young generations, So, the young generation is the target market of Coke because they want to represent Coke with the youth and energy but they also consider about the old people they take then as a co-target market.
Major segments are basically those people who take this drink daily and those areas where the demands are higher then the other areas. There are so many people who take this drink daily and those people who take weekly and those who take less often are always there as well. So, their basic segments are those people who take this drink regularly.
Future growth
Globally, per capital consumption of Coca-Cola’s beverages has grown from 32 drinks in 1985 to 55 drinks in 1995, and on to 77 drinks per person in 2005. Much of this increase in the last ten years has been driven by developing countries. There is considerable room for growth in per capital consumption. Since the vast majority of the worlds population resides in developing countries, where per capital consumption is low, in the long-term, there is obviously considerable room for global growth in the beverage industry. Considering the wide range of beverages Coca-Cola can bring to market in a country, and the company’s success with marketing, it seems reasonable that Coca-Cola will capture a large part of this growth. Another source for growth is purchasing competitors with local brands that have the potential for a wider market. When these new brands are integrated into Coca-Cola’s distribution network and marketed globally, the return on these acquisitions can be impressive, even when Coca-Cola purchases the company for a substantial premium.

Pressure Cooker

All pressure cookers have the same principles of operation. Heat produces steam in a closed container which raises the boiling point to cook foods faster. A pressure cooker cooks food in superheated steam, it is not a boiler so there is no reason to submerge foods in water.

There are two basic types of pressure cookers. The old style, first generation pressure cooker with some type of weighted, or "jiggle top" pressure regulator which sits a top the vent pipe on the lid, or the newer style, the second generation which is a closed system and uses spring valves.

Every time you use any pressure cooker it should be thoroughly inspected. The cooker should be clean, inside and out, with no food particles or debris on the rim of the pot, or the lid. There should be no sign of warping, dents or dings, or any other damage to the rim of the cooker or lid. Remove and examine the gasket. The gasket should be in good condition with no signs of cracking, tears or other deterioration such as gumminess or brittleness. Replace the rubber/silicon parts at the first sign of deterioration. The gasket should fit snugly in its place in the lid. If using a jiggle top pressure cooker always check the vent pipe to make sure it is clear and open. On a valve type cooker, lift or turn the valve to make sure it moves freely and the inside connecting screw is tight. Periodically check the handles and tightened the screws as necessary. Read more about the care and cleaning for your pressure cooker, the lid and gasket.

Pressure Cooker was carefully developed by Designers, Technicians and Cooking Instructors with the goal of making your daily routine more efficient and dynamic. We call your attention especially to the Safety Systems, which have resulted in a harmonious set by marrying Technology, Functionality and Beauty. Since Pressure Cookers work differently than conventional cookers, your Pressure Cooker requires that you pay special attention to the use and safety instructions.

On first Use

Clean your Pressure cooker thoroughly before using it for the first time.

Quantity of water

Observe the following general rules: For Solid food – fill to a maximum of 2/3 of the total capacity For Liquids, vegetables and foods which form foam, fill to maximum of ½ of total capacity.

How to Close

1. Adjust the lid so that the arrow point to the lower handle of the pan.
2. Press down the lid slightly and turn until it covers the lower handle to the left until it covers the lower handle completely.

How to Cook

Put your Pressure cooker on the high flame (gas) or high range (electric) of your stove until steam begins to escape from the pressure valve. Lower the heat into a time and start counting the cooking time as indicated in the time table.

How to Open

Remove the pressure cooker from the stove and put it under cold water. To verify if there are any internal pressure left, lift the pressure valve with a long handle utensil. To turn the lid to the right until its arrow points to the lower handle cooker.

Safety

Your Pressure Cooker is triple-safe, since it contains a system with three safety valves;

1. Central Pressure Valve (with Weight).
2. Safety Seal, which melts in case of pressure excess.
3. Safety hole at the edge of the lid, which permits to escape in case the other valves fail.

Cleaning of the pressure valve

Lift the weight and turn it to the left. Wash it thoroughly; clean the holes with a brush. Do the same with the hole on the lid. To verify if the hole of the lid is clean, hold if against the light.
What to do in case…
Steam escapes to the lid, close it tightly and if there are some food particles in the lid or rubber gasket. The lid does not open, even after cooling: Do not try to push it open. The pressure cooker is still pressurized, put it back to the tap water.

Important Advice

• Make sure the lid is tightly close before putting your pressure cooker in the stove.
• Never substitute the pressure valve with another object.
• Do not overfill your cooker; use only the recommended quantity of water.
• Turn the handle of the cooker on the stove in a way to avoid accidents, especially with children.
• Do not hit the brim of your pressure cooker with cooking utensils, which could harm its perfect functioning.

Useful Tips

Do not keep the food stored in your pressure cooker. Do not cook cereals and grains in your pressure cooker, unless you keep them over night in water. Change the water before cooking. Meat will be more tender and tasty if browned before cooking.

Important Safeguards

When using pressure cookers, basic safety precautions should always be followed.

1. Before each use make sure the vent tube is clear. Remove the pressure control and place the lid against the light to make sure that the tube is clear. If plugged clean all holes with a piece of wire.

2. Never cook applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, split pease, rhubarb, noodles, macaroni, spaghetti or other pasta, oatmeal or other cereals in a pressure cooker. These foods tend to foam, froth and splutter, and can plug the vent tube.

Warning: If the vent tube is plugged, the overpressure devices can open and spray scalding hot steam and food. Keep head and face away from cooker.

3. Never fill your pressure cooker more than 2/3 full. When cooking foods that puff up during cooking, such as rice and dried vegetables, do not fill more than 1/2 full.

Warning: Overfilling the cooker can plug the vent tube causing a release of scalding steam from the overpressure devices.

4. This appliance cooks under pressure. Make absolutely sure your pressure cooker is properly closed before placing on heat. The cooker is closed when the lid handle is directly over the handle of the pan.
Warning: Improper closure of the lid can cause the lid to be thrown from the pan.

5. If the overpressure devices release, protect yourself from the steam and turn off heat and allow the cooker to cool. The reusable overpressure plug may be reset. If the gasket has blown out of the overpressure window replace with a new gasket. Do not reuse.

6. Never try to open your pressure cooker until the cooker is thoroughly cool and the internal pressure is down. When the pressure is down the lid should turn easily. Never try to force open the lid if it seems locked tight.

7. Never remove the Pressure Control during cooking or when the cooker is still hot. Steam will release through the vent tube that can cause burns.
8. Supervise children closely when using your pressure cooker near children. Keep handles turned toward the inside of the stove.

9. Always remove the gasket before using the cooker as a conventional (non Pressurized) covered pan without the pressure control. If you leave the gasket in, some pressure can develop in the cooker. Without the gasket, no pressure will develop.

10. Never use your Pressure Cooker for other than its intended use: cooking appropriate foods under pressure on residential ranges. Never place the cooker inside a heated oven. Do not use the cooker outdoors.

11. Never use your pressure Cooker for pressure frying with oil and never "broast" (pressure cook with oil or shortening instead of water) in your cooker.

Pressure cookers are useful at high altitudes, where they alleviate the problem of low temperature boiling caused by reduced atmospheric pressure. Pressure Cooker design includes safety locks, pressure regulators, portable cookers, and low-pressure fryers.People living at high altitudes must have pressure cooker at home for more convenience and less consumption of cooking time.

Parts of Pressure Cooker

Single Pressure Control – Keeps internal pressure steady, it is an automatic cooking control, operating at a pressure of 10 PSI (pounds per square inch). Included with 4.2 & 6 Qt. Models.

Selective Pressure Control – Keeps internal pressure steady, allowing the selection of 3 cooking pressures: 5, 10 and 15 PSI. To disassemble the Selective Pressure Control, turn the knob keeping the rest of the assembly fixed, until the notches of the knob are aligned with the notches of the assembly, thus releasing the components of the control. Included with 8, 12 & 22 Qt. Models.

Vent Tube – Fastened to the center of the lid, having holes allowing for the release of steam. The Single Pressure Control or Selective Pressure Control is connected to the top.

Pan And Lid Handles – Allow the opening and closing of your Pressure Cooker as well as its handling. If handles become loose tighten with a screw driver.

Reusable Overpressure Plug – It will release if the vent tube becomes plugged and the cooker develops too much pressure. The red pin in the center pushed out, releasing steam.

Safety Window – This is an additional feature that will release if the vent tube and reusable overpressure plug becomes plugged and the cooker develops too much pressure. The rubber gasket will push out from the lid opening releasing the steam.

Rubber Gasket – Fitted inside the lid, it's function is to seal the lid of the pan of the Pressure Cooker.

Safety Locks – Located on the lid and pan are locking lags, this feature prevents the opening of the lid of your pressure cooker when pressurized.

Spring Safety Device – Located in the lid handle or lid. Its function is to prevent the pressurization of your cooker before being closed.

Cooking Rack – To prevent food from sticking to the bottom of the cooker and to place jars off the bottom of the 8, 12 and 22 Qt. canners.
